Diel does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. Everything the app uses stays on your device.
There are no servers of our own, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
Calendars. With your permission, Diel reads the events from the calendars you choose, to draw them on the dial and list the upcoming ones. If you create, edit or delete an event from the app, that change is written to the system Calendar app. Events never leave the device and are never copied anywhere.
Location. With your permission, Diel takes a single reading of your approximate location to work out sunrise and sunset times. The coordinates are stored in the shared storage of the app and the widget, on your device. They are not sent to any server. The solar calculation is local: no external service is consulted. You can decline; the dial simply won't draw the daylight band.
Photos. If you choose a photo as the app's background, it is copied into the app's storage on your device. Diel does not access your library: the iOS photo picker runs outside the app and hands it only the image you picked.
Reminders. With your permission, Diel schedules local notifications for the time bands you ask it to. Your phone fires them: there is no notification server, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Preferences. Your settings (colour, clock type, chosen calendars, language) are stored on the device so the widget can read them.
You can revoke any permission at any time in System Settings. The app keeps working: without calendar access it won't draw meetings, without location it won't draw the daylight band.
Diel collects no data from anyone, minors included.
Everything Diel stores lives inside the app. Uninstalling it deletes the preferences, the cached location and the background photo. Calendar events belong to the Calendar app and are left untouched.
If this policy changes, the date above is updated.
